摘要

Multiview and integral photography (IP) based 3-dimensional imaging systems have basically thesame optical structure. Hence, the depth sensing mechanism of the IP can be considered as bothbinocular and motion parallaxes as in the multiview. These parallax mechanisms lead to the imagesprojected to the viewers' eyes at viewing zone being virtually synthesized from the same numberpixel of the image under each lenslet of the microlens plate in IP in contrast to the different viewimages from a camera array in the multiview. This confirms that IP and the multiview have aconjugate relationship in their image forming. Further, the minimum required number of differentview images to be a supermultiview is estimated as 45. This number is much more than thatemployed by current IP.
