The reaction between bis(acetylacetonato)dioxomolybdenum(VI) and bis(2-hydroxy-1-naphthaldehydr)malonoyldihydrazone yields homobimetallic complex [(MoO_2)_2(CH_2L)(H_2O)_2] in which dihydrazone coordinates to the metal centres in the staggered configuration. The complex undergoes a dynamic process in solution in which the dissociated form remains in equilibrium with the undissociated form.
