The method of Tikhonovs regularization was introduced to EXAFS analysis nearly two decades ago, but it has not gained widespread use despite its appeal from a formal point of view. We find that our implementation of the method, which automatically selects regularization parameters, shows promise for analysis of broad, complex distributions with closely spaced shells in presence of experimental noise.
