In the world of education today there is a greater emphasison trying to find the best way to create new paths to successin learning. Most of these emphasize not only greater capac-ity in one's knowledge base but also the employment of tech-nology to achieve these ends. The argument goes that tech-nology is the best inroad since it already exists; childrentoday were born into this era hence have familiarity with it,and it is the backbone of tools in use today in the workplace.Though these seem to be valid arguments, they overlook themost critical part of education : the process of learning is notthe end product; for example the solution to a story problem,but is instead the acquisition of skills to enable problem solv-ing and the employment. of these skills. This is the funda-mental goal of both science and math education today. It isparallel to saying that results speak for themselves in thescientific process, but it is the assessment of the student'sgood data acquisition and analysis that is the most impor-tant.
