One hundred years on and the Journal of the Royal NavalMedical Service (JRNMS) has changed considerably, ashas medical practice - but have the principles of medicine? The initial Journal started with an article from Edward At-kinson on his experiences with Captain Scott in Antarctica.The expedition had captured the emotions of a British pub-lic and I am sure intrigued his fellow RN Medical Officers.It is interesting that this took precedence over the ensuingarticles which related to early experiences in World WarOne.
