The International Cocoa Organization's efforts firmly to set in motion the development of a sustainable global cocoa economy -something very dear to the heart of its executive director, Jan Vingerhoets - took another step forward recently, as Robin Sterner explains. In March, the independent working group set up to plan the next stages in the political and economic process, which is setting about its task with considerable assistance from the ICCO, met in London, while the cocoa agency's search for funds to launch a specific field project in the area of sustainability proceeds apace.
