Transcultural Nursing (TCN) Scholars "promote the advancement of a body of knowledge, initiate and disseminate research, teaching and learning, and the clinical applications of transcultural nursing and healthcare globally" (Transcultural Nursing Society, n.d.). Cultures and health care are dynamic and constantly evolving; globalization and people group migration are continual. Therefore, cultural competence is a journey rather than a destination, and the need for continual learning, research, and theory application is unending. Engaging in academic-practice partnerships is one way transcultural nurses can ensure that our scholarship addresses actual clinical challenges and that TCN theory and research are used by nurses and health care providers at the point of service, whether hospital bedside, clinic, or community setting.
