摘要

A New Year commencing invites a fresh look at how we do things, at what we hope to achieve. But first let us consider where we have come in this past year. JRN has raised the profile of many nurse-/patient-centred subjects through its Focus sections and has highlighted groundbreaking methodologies and will continue to do so. Through our publishers, Sage, we are available to many thousands of readers across the globe; indeed our international focus has widened considerably and we now receive many papers from overseas and collaborate regularly with international experts. The standards set by our expert reviewers are unquestionably high, and their work over the past year is acknowledged by publication of their names in this issue. I would like to add a personal 'thank you' to them all-without them there would not be a journal of any value or credibility.
