BackgroundPatients receiving chemotherapy are at increased risk for developing recurrent or post-incisional hernias (PIH). Biological materials are an alternative to synthetic mesh in contaminated fields. The impact of chemotherapy on biomaterial tissue ingrowth and integration has not been well studied.
