摘要

The plant root system is an essential organ for the absorption of water and nutrients from the soil. The distribution of different root types in a root system determines its ability to efficiently take up water and nutrients because these resources are heterogeneously distributed in the soil. To improve water- and nutrient-uptake in rice, we identified a region on the rice genome associated with root system development at the seedling stage using 2D & 3D root-phenotyping systems.
