摘要

Inhibitory interneurons are coupled by electri-cal and inhibitory synapses and exert a powerful control ofthe discharges of principal cells. In this paper, the trans-mission properties of excitatory synaptic inputs by anetwork of interneurons, are studied by using a computa-tional approach. It is shown that both the rise and decaytime constants, describing the time course of the excitatorysynaptic inputs, have a strong effect on the output jitter ofthe fired spikes. Similar results were found by changing thevalues of the other parameters describing the network.Lastly, it is shown that the presence of the electrical cou-pling between interneurons confers to the network thecapability of transmitting, with less temporal spread, thetiming information contained in its inputs.
