摘要

One of the major tasks of an electrostatic precipitator (ESP) is to clean the air in the superhighway tunnels. In this condition, contaminants in the air are carbon particles, NO{sub}x. Conventional ESPs using dc corona discharge precharger eliminate carbon particles efficiently, however, these have minimal effect on removal NO{sub}x. Additionally, the collection efficiency for the large particles decreases due to the particle re-entrainment phenomena. Present version ESP is barrier discharge type ESP for the sake of removing NO{sub}x and particles simultaneously. In this study, effect of electrode shape in barrier discharge type ESP on discharge current and collection efficiency were investigated.
