摘要

In this study, unsaturated polyester resin and two layers of jute woven fabrics (recycled coffee bag) with and without further drying were employed as the matrix and reinforcement, respectively. The hydrothermal ageing performance and effect on these composites were investigated during the 80 °C hot water immersion experiment. Especially, water absorption and weight loss of the jute woven fabric composite at predetermined intervals were recorded and discussed. As a result, it was revealed that jute woven fabric with further drying reinforced composite displayed higher water absorption and weight loss ratio compared with naturally dried one. Finally, the water absorption mechanism of jute woven fabric composite was illustrated comparing with glass cloth reinforced composite.
