Cytologic and morphometric investigations of the hypothesis, thyroid, thyroid and pancreas of rats after 19-d centrifugation at 2G revealed suppression of somatotropic hormone production by hypophyseal somatotrophs and insulin by pancreatic beta-cells, and intensification of thyrotrophic hormone production by hypophyseal thyreotrophs, thyroxin by thyreoid parenchyma and glucagon by pancreatic alpha-cells. These change in hormone production are viewed as an endocrine mechanism of the divergence of plastic processes and energy metabolism in animals subjected to chronic exposure to hypergravity. medicine
