摘要

It is important to keep memories of disaster experience inside affected areas. In this paper, we have conducted a pre-post questionnaire survey for primary students in Niigata City which is an area stricken by the 1964 Niigata Earthquake based on a school visit including classroom lecture, quiz game and role playing workshop on family meeting about disaster reduction in May,2014. The survey data were consisted of students' knows about disaster event in Niigata Prefecture (disaster memory in the community) and implementation status of disaster reduction in their families. The results are as follows.1)They did not know disaster events in Niigata Prefecture and characteristic phenomena of the Niigata Earthquake so well. 2) Their knowledge about the Niigata Earthquake, other event and disaster reduction and their motivation for learning were increased after the school visit. 3) However, few students implemented action for disaster reduction in their families.
