This paper outlines marked technologies adopted in the eight units of 23.7 MW bulb turbines and generators for Chashma Hydroelectric Power Station, Pakistan. A newly developed higher specific speed, higher efficiency runner and sluicing operationcharacteristics have been applied to the turbines. A high-performance, easy-maintenance cooling system that combines direct stator cooling and double shell cooling and a solid disk braking ring have been applied to the generators.
