摘要

Relativistic Heavy Ion collider collides heavy nuclei, such as gold (Au), at (s_(NN))~(1/2)=200 GeV. It is expected that a state of matter made of deconfined quarks and gluons, the quark-gluon plasma (QGP), is formed in such high energy collisions. Recent lattice QCD calculation shows that the matter with temperature above 170 MeV and energy density above 1 GeV/fm3 is the QGP. The goal of RHIC physics program is to look for the evidence of the QGP formation, and then to investigate the property of the QGP.
