Commonly, thyroid function tests (TFT) include measurement of thyrotropin (TSH), free thyroxine (FT4) and sometimes free triiodothyronine (FT3). In the past 20 years, several reports of interferences in TFT including non specific binding of heterophile antibodies or rheumatoid factors , and thyroid hormone autoantibodies (THAA) have been published. We describe a case of THAA interferences in one-step thyroid hormone immunoassays#
