摘要

Twenty four years ago in October 1991.I came to study at the University of Tokyo, School of Engineering as a government-sponsored foreign student invited by what was then called the Ministry of Education, Science, Sports and Culture of Japan, from Nanjing University China. In April of the following year, I entered the doctoral program in what was then known as the Industrial Chemistry Course of the University. With Professor Tsuguo Sawada as my advisor, I completed the course in March 1995 and obtained a Ph.D. in Engineering. After that, I received a research fellowship for young scientists from the Japan Society for the Promotion of Science and became a research associate at The University of Tokyo, Graduate School of Engineering, Applied Chemistry Department, and then in April 1996, I moved to the University of Electro-Communication, Faculty of Electro-Communications, Department of Applied Physics and Chemistry. Currently, I am an associate professor at the Graduate School of Informatics and Engineering of the same university. During this period, I experienced two important events, which were marriage and giving birth. Currently, I am enjoying a busy, but full, life as a mother of two children and an educator and a researcher, raising kids and immersing myself in educating people and research. I am very grateful to the people who gave me advice and support on a variety of occasions over the past 24 years that I spent in Japan.
