摘要

Folded cantilever shear structure, is proposed as a new seismic isolation approach combining coupling method, roller bearing system and additional viscous dampers in one structure to improve the earthquake resistant ability of the multi-storey buildings. The structure consists of a fix-supported shear sub-structure and movable shear sub-structure which are interconnected by rigid connection beam at the top point for extending the natural vibration period of the structure. Besides, additional viscous dampers are attached that connect both sub-structures to avoid excessive displacements and increase the damping ratio as well. The experimental study is conducted by using shaking table and it is clarified that the proposed model provided more effectiveness in use of viscous dampers.
