摘要

A rectangular-to-radial waveguide transformer through a crossed slot is analyzed by using the method of moments with numerical eigenmode basis functions. The basis functions of magnetic current in the crossed slot are chosen to be the eigenmodes for its cross section derived by the edge-based finite element method. The reactions in the parallel plates are calculated in free space with image sources of the magnetic currents. A model transformer is designed at 5.8 GHz. The calculated ripple is 2.3 dB in amplitude in the circumferential direction. The reflection of the transformer is -22.3 dB. The bandwidth of the reflection below -15 dB is over 7 %.
