摘要

A modified model has been present in terms of a probabilistic approach to the crack growth description that applies a two-parameter Weibull distributioned. In comparison to the earlier proposal of the authors in this new one the applied stress level appears evidently in all derived equations. Fundamental for the description is a difference equation that models the crack growth. The method has been illustrated with an example of predicting the crack growth and fatigue life of laser hardened medium-carbon steel specimens under reversed torsion. Characteristic behaviour of fatigue crack growth and a fractographic peculiarities of the fracture surfaces in the treated specimens were analysed.
