Subsea compression has been a subject of top discussion in the oil and gas industry aimed to reduce extraction costs of the offshore gas reservoirs located in harsh environments. But the real question is: is this possible with the present state-of-the-art compressor technology? The answer - examining the requests of the operators - is no.
