摘要

Common bean is a major legume crop with signicante nutritional importance and major source of protein and calories in many developing countries throughout the world. However Afghanistan faces a severe problem of poor nutrition and protein deficiency rate. Chronic malnutrition of afghan children is highest in the world. Beside the pulses production in Afghanistan is 49147 ton as in 2011(FAO 2013). Beans, peas, chick-peas and mung beans are important secondary crop in many areas of the country, especially in Nangarhar, Bamyan, etc. Mung beans are mixed with rice to make an important traditional dish in Afghanistan. The consumption of common bean, chick pea and lentil are much high than the production, there is a big gap between production and consumptions in Bamyan province too.
