摘要

In a previous report, it was suggested that the concentration of oxygen affected the respiration of cucumber fruit rather than that of carbon dioxide. However, it was not specified whether the effect depended on the change rate of environmental gas concentration or the concentration of some gases. In this study, to make clear the influence of the change rate of the gas concentration, the experiment was carried out under three conditions of the change rate of the gas concentration. Moreover ascorbic acid content was measured in order to examine the influence of the gas concentration change rate. As the result, it was suggested that control of respiration and induction of anaerobic respiration would be influenced by the gas concentration value more than the gas concentration change rate.
