Several measures have been considered as a means of countering the lengthening of level crossing closure times, but since these all rely on the transient detection of the location and speed of trains, none have yet proven to be sufficiently effective. Against this background, the author has been studying a continuous-type train location detection method that triggers the actuation of a warning system according to the speed of the train. The proposed method uses crossed inductive wires to improve the start time of gate opening [1, 2, 3]. This paper proposes the use of such crossed inductive wires, using a new method and compares the new proposal with existing designs.
