Mitsubishi has commercialized an ashmelting furnace with oil burner for processingMunicipal Solid waste incinerator residue. The furnaceoperates at 1 350 to 1 400 degrees centigrade and hasa commercial capacity of 9.62 t/d of bottom and fly ashmixture. we studied operational data on this facility,and found that flue gas shows good values for dioxin?etc., satisfying design standards. Black slagconsisting of small glassy particles also met standardsfor recycling. Oil consumption is good at 255 l/t ofash, and melting slag flows smoothly. Refractories forhigh temperature are durable, and the facility is nowbeing monitored in longer operation.
