On the 9th May, 2010, Dr Liana Zoitopoulos died, having suffered with pancreatic cancer for nine months. Liana was 54 years old when she died.Liana was born in Athens, left at the age of 18 to study at Liverpool University dental school and qualified with BDS in 1980.Her first professional post was as a vocational trainee in the community dental service in Halton, Cheshire. Liana committed the next twelve years of her professional life to the local community dental service, completing her Masters Degree in Community Dental Health in 1989 and becoming head of the Halton and Chester Community Dental Service inl990.
