摘要

A conceptual (basic) model is proposed that describes the aquatic community consisting of phytoplankton, zooplankton, fish, and fish larvae. Analysis of the model shows that carnivorous zooplankton feeding on fish larvae enhances the stability of the system with respect to transition to the regime in which fish abundance oscillates. As a result, a collapse of the system giving rise to algal bloom becomes less likely.
