摘要

Electromagnetic interference (EMI) from mobile phones affecting implanted cardiac pacemakers has become a recent concern. Previous studies have shown that electromagnetic waves cause interference to internal electronic circuits through the connector between the pacemaker housing and the lead wire of the electrode. Therefore, the connector plays a major role in the amount of EMI caused by mobile phones. In order to study more detailed mechanism of the interference-voltage generation, it is necessary to evaluate the relation between the interference voltage and the electromagnetic field distribution around the connector of the pacemaker. In this study, electromagnetic field distribution around connector and interference voltages were numerically simulated by finite difference time domain (FDTD) method, by using a half-wavelength dipole antenna which operates at 2 GHz as a radiating source.
