The experimental-calculation method for determination of residual stresses within the zone of the circumferential welds in shell structures
The experimental-calculation method intended for evaluation of circumferential and axial residual welding stresses induced in the circumferential welds of the shell-type structures is described. The method comprises determination of differencesbetween stresses using the electromagnetic technique and calculation of the stress ratio for a given value of the shell parameter AWS based on the described algorithm. Nomograms for determination of the stress ratio for steel 20 and 09G28 are presented.
