The article offers the analytic and experimental results of a research program concerning the influence of cylinder liner ribbing on a temperature of a liner itself and the associated piston, as applied to YAMZ 13/14 engine. Ribs are shown as contributing into decrease in temperature of both said pacts caeteris paribus, or allowing certain boost in BMEP in engines with non-cooled pistons. 5 il., 4 references.
