A method of transition from the logical function of serviceability to the probability of failure of a system is proposed for the condition when the elements of the system considered are prone to failures of the 《short-circuit》 type. The proposed method of obtaining the probability enables logical-and-probabilistic methods to be used to estimate the reliability of systems, which will extend their field of application. Comparison between the proposed method of estimating the reliability of structurally complex systems and the existing methods is made. Examples of analysis are given.
