Even when they swim in polluted waters, sharks will not develop cancer. Why? Is it the shark's rugged immune system? or Is it the fact that the shark's cartilage -- six to eight percent of its gross weight -- blocks the start of tumors and, if they should start, cuts off their means of growing and spreading?
