Mechanical chiral induction: In aqueous solutions of a cationic oligomer that forms interchain cross-linking through non-covalent interactions, chiral regions can be obtained reversibly by stirring flows. The chiral induction upon an achiral molecule (Congo Red dye) was demonstrated by Mueller matrix spectroscopy analysis of the optical polarization properties. Shown here is the true CD image of a stirred solution, clockwise (top) and counterclockwise (bottom), of compound 1.
