The paper by Love et al. (2004) (in the following abbreviated to L04 for convenience) reports an interesting set of U-Pb data for units of the Lewisian Complex at Badcall Bay, Lochinver and Gruinard Bay in northern Scotland, expanding our understanding of the geological relationships in the Complex and also providing new insights on the systematics of zircon in high-grade rocks. Besides the many positive points the paper, however, contains some dubious interpretations that ignore or misrepresent available evidence. This comment addresses some of these points, rectifies some twisted quotations and answers some technical remarks.
