I think my laptop is a blood relative to my cell phone. Both work when and how they want, and not how I want them to work. I think that's a genetic thing. Vista reboots whenever it wants to. HP updates breeze in freely and go "ding dong" even though all sound options are turned off. I imagine a room full of 19-year-old guys, Vista programmers, drinking Mountain Dew, (in America it has real caffeine) making sure all of Vista's one thousand features are all turned on. Empty pizza boxes piled to the ceiling and each zit wit goes home to his/her parents' place, because they haven't moved out yet, all somewhere near Redmond, WA. These are the programmers who are convinced they understand how I'm going to use my laptop.
