摘要

The aim of this study was to generate and evaluate genotoxic data for herbomineral preparations (bhasmas), viz. Abhrak (mica) bhasma, Mandura (iron) bhasma, Swas Kuthar ras (mercury, sulphur) and Smrit Sagar ras (mixture of metals), using in vivo micronucleus (MN) assay and comet assay in Wistar rats of both sexes. No significant increase in MN frequency or DNA damage percentage was recorded in the bhasma-treated animals compared to the vehicle control groups in both sexes, indicating that the bhasmas tested were non-genotoxic under the experimental conditions and the test system employed.
