After 150 days, seed of loquat (Eriobotrya japonica Lindl.) soaked at 375 mg/L iron chelated gave 100% germination, as compared to 53.3% for the control. In contrast germination was 80.0% after soaking with 1% urea and 76.7% with 0.176 g/L boric acid.
