The aim of the study was evaluation of new cultivars of loquat for adapted to the Western Mediterranean region of Turkey. A trial was conducted on 46 loquat cultivars and selections from West Mediterranean region of Turkey and North Cyprus. The studies were carried out in 1996 at experimental plots of Bat Akdeniz Agricultural Research Institute, Antalya. Phenological and pomological observations were carried out between 2001 and 2006. The cultivar 'Dr. Trabut' the Cyprus selections 'Guzelyurt(G) 1', 'G2', 'G4', 'G5' and 'KKTC 4' proved to be the most suitable new genotypes for the region.
