'Pink Panda' was the first red-flowered strawberry cultivar in the world, released from England in 1971 with pink flowers but no or very small fruits. Two new ornamental and edible red-flowered strawberry cultivars with larger fruits, 'Pink Beauty' and 'Pretty Beauty' were the progenies of 'Kinuama' x 'Pink Panda' crossed in 2002 at Shenyang Agricultural University in China. They were selected as excellent strains in 2004 and released in 2010. 'Pink Beauty' had large and pink flowers with diameter from 2.7 to 3.5 cm. Its fruit was red, conical and uniform with average single primary fruit weight of 14.9 g. It tasted a bit sour; 'Pretty Beauty' had red flowers. Its flower diameter was from 3.5 to 3.7 cm and obviously larger than that of 'Pink Beauty'. Its fruit was red, short wedge and uniform with average single primary fruit weight of 10.5 g. It tasted sweet. The two new red-flowered strawberry cultivars could be grown as an ornamental flower. There were 30 to 40 flowers per annual plant. Each flower generally lasted for 5 to 7 days. The whole florescence could last more than one month in the open field. The fruit characteristics of 'Pink Beauty' and 'Pretty Beauty' were obviously better than those of 'Pink Panda'. Both of them were stronger andtaller than 'Pink Panda'. They had a stronger leaf spot resistance than 'Pink Panda'.
