Two trials were conducted at the University of Florida, NFREC, Quincy in 2011 and 2012 to evaluate effective fungicides for management of target spot of tomato caused by Corynespora cassiicola. The trial in Quincy, FL Florida in 2011 had Fontelis alternated with Echo 720, Inspire Super alternated with Echo 720, Endura alternated with Echo 720, Tanos alternated with Endura, Quadris Top alternated with Endura, Scala and non-treated control. The trial in Quincy in 2012 included Topguard, Topguard + Koverall, Koverall, Quadris, Scala, Bravo Weatherstik and non-treated control. In the 2011 Trial at Quincy, all the treatments excluding Endura alternated with Echo 720 and Tanos alternated with Endura had a significantly lower disease severity than non-treated control. Scala was the best treatment in that trial. There was no statistical difference in the yield. In the 2012 Trial at Quincy, all fungicides except Quadris, Bravo, and Topguard at the lowest rate (3.5 oz/A) had significantly lower disease severity than the non-treated control. This trial clearly demonstrated the impact of fungal resistance to azoxystrobin (Quadris).
