The US EPA proposes to reinstate the registration of Dow AgroSciences' sulfoxaflor (trade-marked as Isoclast)- based insecticides, Transform and Closer, on a reduced number of crops with restrictions aimed at minimising risks to bees. Restricting applications to post-bloom for bee-attractive crops should result in "essentially no exposure" to bees in treated fields, the EPA points out. It also proposes restrictions aimed at protecting bees foraging in adjacent fields.
