EU member states have voted in favour of renewing agrochemical approvals for three active ingredients, the herbicides, ethofumesate, picolinafen and thifensulfuron-methyl. The decisions will come into force once they have been published in the EU Official Journal. BASF’s picolinafen gained its first EU approval in 2002, while DuPont’s thifensulfuron-methyl was re-registered in 2001. Ethofumesate was re-registered in 2002 and the renewal application was submitted by United Phosphorus and a task force comprising Bayer CropScience and ChemChina subsidiary Adama Agricultural Solutions.
