ONE month after naming the Cross River Rail project as its highest priority for federal funding, the Queensland government has pushed the project back by two years to help pay its share of flood reconstruction. The state had sought a 75% contribution from the federal government for the 7.7 billion dollars project, meaning the state government expected to pay more than 1.9 billion dollars. The target for starting construction has been moved back from 2013 to 2015.
