摘要

Third-harmonic-generation processes in crystals are governed by the fourth-lank tensor chi(ijkl)((3)), which reflects the crystal symmetry. In this ease, the third-order nonlinear susceptibility tenser can be contracted to the compact matrix form chi(im)((3)). The matrices chi(im)((3)) for isotropic media and all 32 crystallographic point groups are presented. With these matrices, the analytic expressions of third-order effective nonlinear susceptibility can be easily derived. [References: 8]
