Little more than two months after the start of crude oil shipments to China via a spur from Russia's East Siberia-Pacific Ocean (Es-po) pipeline, a pricing dispute appears to threaten the 300,000 barrel per day deal. The crude started flowing on Jan. 1 via a spur running from Skovorodino, the end-point of Espo's first phase, to the Chinese city of Daqing. The shipments were agreed as part of a 20-year oil-for-loan deal inked in 2009, under which Russia was to supply the oil in return for a $25 billion Chinese loan to state-controlled Rosneft and national pipeline operator Transneft.
