Russian private oil producers Lukoil and Bashneft have finalized the formation of a joint venture (JV) for the development of the northern Trebs and Titov fields, which together hold an estimated 1 billion barrels. Under the terms of the deal signed Tuesday, Lukoil is paying 4.768 billion rubles ($154 million) for a 25.1% stake in Bashneft- Polyus, the company that holds the license to the fields. At the same time, Bashneft- Polyus is buying for $60 million 29 shut-in wells that have been drilled on the acreage and are owned by Lukoil.
