Austria’s OMV has decided to sell its 45% stake in the Bayernoil refinery network — the largest refinery network in Germany’s Bavaria region with a total capacity of 215,000 b/d — the company said in a statement released Friday. OMV is the largest stakeholder in Bayernoil alongside Ruhr Oel — owned 50-50 by Rosneft and BP — with 25%, Eni (20%) and BP Europa (10%). The sale of its stake — of which OMV’s share equates to 98,000 b/d of capacity — would decrease the group’s refining capacity to 353,000 b/d.
