Peru plans to hold an oil and gas licensing round sometime in the middle of this year, a top official has disclosed. Aurelio Ochoa, president of Peru’s hydrocarbons licensing agency Perupetro, told reporters last week that his agency would auction off concessions for about 30 blocks as soon as the end of this year’s second quarter. The bid round would comprise both onshore and offshore blocks, he said. A Perupetro spokesperson says, however, that the list of blocks to be offered has not yet been finalized.
